The colleges which have applied for the renewal of affiliation and the ones which have applied newly are strictly inspected. University has announced that this process was started from June 22, 2009.

The University release says that once the college receives the approval letter from All India Council for Technical Education / Council of Architecture, University starts its inspection process. The team specially formed for this inspection will assess the colleges for its infrastructural facilities, academic ambiance and availability of faculty members. The committee will also meet the parents, students and staff to understand the requirements and the expectations of each category.

Counselling for the undergraduate courses in Tamil Nadu Agricultural University began this Tuesday (June 23 2009). This will go till this Sunday (June 28 2009). Under the single window system nearly 7000 candidates have applied for the study in 12 disciplines. When asked about the counselling procedure, the Dean K. Vanangamudi said that it will be based on the plus two marks and the cut-off marks in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

The first day of the counselling saw students from 199 to 189 and 188.75 to 184.25. The first three toppers chose B.Sc Agriculture, B. Tech. (Biotechnology) and B. Tech. (Energy and Environmental Engineering). The admission card for them was handed over by the Vice-Chancellor P. Murugesa Boopathy. The second batch of counselling will be held July 07, 2009.
